Great post Sara! I am curious about how you explore opportunities with your backlist and would love to read more about that if you are interested in expanding!
This is so helpful for an emerging writer who is approaching their first paid gig and trying to fight the imposter syndrome. Thanks so much for sharing - I will be re-reading this often!
This is so great to hear Michaela! Good luck with your first paid gig - I'm sure you'll handle it like a champ (imposter syndrome is so strange at times but so normal judging by all the amazing writers I've spoken to who have confessed to having it!)
Such a great piece, Sara! It's not talked about enough and I'm glad you're bringing it out of the closet in this post, with some really helpful suggestions. I also love that you acknowledged the need for balance and pacing: "A solid financial strategy can have both short and long-term goals, and should incorporate other things we value, like our family and our health."
I agree either way Sara. I run three different businesses, writing and two in agriculture and it’s also damn hard to get loans from the bank for the exact reasons you first mention.
Hi Fleur! This is such a great point - I have a nightmare with bank loans too. (I can't believe you have two other businesses and so prolific in your writing - amazing!)

Absolutely - there’s such a lot in here to expand on!
I'm keen to hear more about this too. Thank you for such a great post!

Thank you! I just keep telling myself all the authors I adore started here too 😊

Really glad you enjoyed this one, Annabel - and I've always admired the way you've chatted so openly about finances too!

I can't even get a credit card with a $3K limit!!!
Such helpful advice, thanks Sara.
