A family falling apart.
Seventeen-year-old Georgia has a secret – one that is isolating her from everyone she loves. She is desperate to tell her best friend, but Sophia is ignoring her, and she doesn’t know why. Before she can find out, Sophia is left fighting for her life after a hit and run, with Georgia a traumatised witness.
As a school psychologist, Georgia’s mother Anya should be used to dealing with scared adolescents. However, it’s very different when the girl who needs help is your own child. Meanwhile, Georgia’s father is wracked with a guilt he can’t share; and when Zac, Georgia’s younger brother, stumbles on an unlikely truth, the family relationships really begin to unravel. Georgia’s secret is about to go viral.
‘This is classic suspense but with a wonderful modern edge.’

All That is Lost Between Us: the idea for the story
All That is Lost Between Us feels like a companion piece to Beneath the Shadows as I took another beautiful part of England - the Lake District - and learned about some of the legends of the area so that I could really ground the story in the setting. I also loved exploring mountain rescue and putting together the family dynamics, as this little family really care for one another and yet they’ve all found themselves isolated with painful secrets and predicaments that need resolving.
All That is Lost Between Us: the publishing story
The book was originally called The Spirit Road, after the small ‘roads’ that were used to bring dead bodies from outlying villages to church to be buried in consecrated ground - but the publishing team felt it would be too easy to mistake it for a self-help book. It was also the first book I published with Simon & Schuster Australia.
